It all happened yesterday. Sportpesa, the most trusted betting website in Kenya, unveiled a new venture. They have pitched tent in Mombasa County in partnership with the Boxing Association of Kenya,  in preparation for the 1st leg of the Sportpesa National Boxing League. The highly anticipated league is set to kick off at the MBG lounge in Nyali today.

The nation-wide competition will feature bouts from Kenya’s finest boxers including The Kenya Police, Kenya Defense Forces, Kenya Prisons and the Kenya Navy.  Mr. Kameto, President of the Boxing Association of Kenya was ecstatic that finally, local boxers  have the chance to compete, grow their talent and also earn a living from the sport.

“I am very thankful to Sportpesa, for breathing fresh life into boxing at a time that we really needed it. Through the Sportpesa National Boxing League, I am sure that the sport will become more competitive and rewarding; this is just the beginning of a very promising boxing future”. He said.

As part of the deal, the company will provide all the professional and upcoming boxers with a complete set of boxing kits and equipments, which will make them more confident and comfortable as they practice the sport.

Sportpesa launched a 3 year partnership worth KES 20 Million​ with the Boxing Association. This will cater for the National Boxing league, that will take place across the country with 5 key events expected within its calendar.

Sportpesa remains committed to developing sports in Kenya and will work in partnership with the Ministry of Sports to ensure that Kenya exploits its sporting potential and growth of all sports from the grassroots to international representation levels.

Sportpesa also took time to meet and greet its customers and fans all over Mombasa town and its environs, who have been very loyal and supportive of the brand. They engaged them in various fun activities that saw them walk away with Sportpesa branded merchandise.
