Great news for Sportpesa fans! Betting company Sportpesa will sponsor an Arsenal Football Training Camp at Kenya School of Monetary Studies from May 23 to 28th in Nairobi.
The training is targeting 60 Kenyan certified coaches from all over the country drawn from 16 Sportpesa Premier League (SPL) under 19 championship while the other 44 will be from the grassroots football clubs across Nairobi, Coast, Nyanza, Western, Eastern, Rift Valley, Central and North Eastern.
A team of three Arsenal coaches namely; Paul Drew Tyler, Mohammed Moaz Awadelkarim and Rupen Shah together with the well renowned legend Sol Campbell will be conducting the course.
The coaches trained under ‘Jenga Game’ initiative coaches will form the Arsenal Kenya SportPesa talent scouting team who will conduct holiday camps to select players for future training camps.
The main objectives of the Training Camp are to give international coaching to Kenyan coaches thus sharpen their skills.
The lessons will be conducted in two sessions; theory in the morning and practicals in the afternoon.
Amongst the topics to be taught include profile of a good footballer, player centered coaching, how to identify player talent, ways to assess good players, developing players’ strengths and balancing their weaknesses.
The training camp will end with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity where kids from soccer academies will attend to have a clinic with the coaches and Campbell.
