A lot of people continue to associate socialites to “sponsors”. Many continue to argue that socialites, especially Kenyan ones, live off the so-called sponsors.
Sponsors, for those who are yet to come into terms with this word, are fat but wealthy old men with big pot bellies, who use their wealth (read money) to have young, beautiful and sexy females around them for various reasons. Among the reasons is sexual gratification! Not that I am a sponsor. Nikuambiwa niliambiwa, okay?

A socialite is a person, usually from a privileged, wealthy, or aristocratic background (although that doesn’t apply in Kenya in most cases), who has a largely known reputation and a high social position in upper class society (many of them, especially in Kenya, get there through social-climbing). A socialite spends a significant amount of time attending various fashionable social gatherings.
So how do socialites make money and manage to live their larger than life lifestyles? Through ‘sponsorships’? That’s right. But Huddah begs to disagree. This is what she says…
