Some Kenyan women have opened up on the flashy lifestyles they live courtesy of old married men majorly known as sponsors, to the shock of many.

While some have paid dearly for the mistakes, others continue to 'harvest' from sponsors in what seems to be 'Make hay while the sun shines.'

*Jane said

''I have had 4 sponsors and the beauty about it is that I do not sleep with them,I get money, goodies but I do not go to bed with them.

All they want is to speak about things they cannot speak with their wife, monthly I receive roughly 25,000 from each, that’s 100k.

The oldest of them I have been with him for the last 5 years and I am 29 years old, the current one I met him this year the others I have dated them in between.

I am an administrator.”

Just when you think you have read enough, a man called in and narrated how a friend of his used to receive money from sponsors only to end up in jail.

“Sometimes people get lucky but does she know the source of the money?

I have a friend who is rotting in Langata women’s prison for the same mistake of receiving money she has no clue where it from.

She was sentenced for aiding and abetting because the guy used her account to clean his money.

He would send 5000$ (Ksh 500,000) every month and then suggest that she goes buy land, a car and all that stuff.

When it went down she was the one who was arrested because all the money passed through her account.

It’s good to use the little you have atleast you know where it is coming from.”

*Nelly went on to share her experience saying

"I met this man 8 years ago. He is married and the wife lives in a different country.

We met in a different country (not where he is living with the wife) and things are super.

My child is going to a good school. I am living in my own house men help build our empires so lets not lie about it.

He is not a sponsor since we have been together for 8 years, we are not gonna get married and we are not planning to have kids but yes he is providing."

Nelly added that her man had advised her to stop working

"He sends me 300$ (Ksh 30,000) every month and he even told me I don’t have to work.

Initially I used to work in a very reputable organization but since the man had money I just became comfortable and he told me that I don’t have to work.

Its been four years without me working and I am comfortable.”

A male caller spoke about being a sponsor

“These things happen, there is a woman I send 10 k every month just for her own stuff.

She is not my girlfriend just a good friend.

There are things you share with people just a relationship with s#x just things you cannot share with someone else.

My wife suspects but she is not sure. I have been sending her the cash for the last one and a half years.”
