In a candid interview with the artistes said:

It has nothing to do with Ivy's death. In our context, it means sexual (have sex) and also means leave if things aren't going well especially in a relationship.

They insisted that the song was misinterpreted because to sheng speakers, it means something different.

Kama dem uwezani naye achana naye, akileta nyef nyef pigwa shoka [achana naye]. Kama ni slay queen hezani naye achana naye. But people interpreted in a bad way.

Mathu Cashney, the founder of Sheddy Empire has a young family and he said;

I lost my child during Easter Sunday and I know the pain of losing a child. I can't mock or abuse a parent who has lost a child. a WEEK HAS PAST AND I Still feel the pain. He was two days old and passed away at a local hospital after developing breathing problems.

In the song, which has since been pulled down from YouTube, two of the artistes were carrying an axe and another one a panga. They denied promoting violence saying;

We're not promoting violence. We were just trying to show people what happens in society to tell men to stop killing women.

We love Kenya and we love peace we wouldn't promote violence. In short our timing was bad because we had the idea two months ago.

They say they regret releasing the song and while apologizing to the public they said;

We are really sorry to Ivy's family, our friends, our fans, the entire Moi university fraternity. We really regret releasing that song. We know many are hurt and all we ask for is forgiveness. If they had listened to the whole song and the lyrics this wouldn't have happened. But w don't want to justify ourselves that we did something good.

Adding;

To the KFCB, we are sorry.

Mathu Cashney also took to his social media accounts to write an apology which read;

We apologize to the whole country

The Kenya DCI

The ivy family

The Kenya film of Kenya

Our fans too.
