President Uhuru Kenyatta surely did the best thing for the youth when he re-allowed graffiti back on Kenyan matatus.
There still exists some controversy on the matter though, after NTSA released a set of guidelines directing matatus and buses to remove any noisy horns, exhaust pipes and elaborate graffiti obscuring important details on their Sacco ownership.

Matatu Owners however chose to ignore the NTSA, or rather took advantage of the double speak by the authorities and went all out with redecorating their ‘javs’.
The result is that now we have matatus pimped up like never before and the competition for the craziest matatu grafitti has reached fever pitch especially on the Rongai, Ngong and Embakasi routes.
Buruburu estate which was known as the home of all pimped up matatus about a decade ago, appeared to have taken a back seat on matters matatu graffiti, with Rongai becoming the new king. But now, it’s official, Buru is back with a blast and clearly seeking to wrestle back it’s crown!
A new matatu plying the Buruburu route was unveiled this week. “SMOKE CITY” is now the hottest ‘nganya’ that hot Buru chicks are dying to ride on. The artwork was done by Choda Fabricators, designed by Virvic and the amazing sound is by Lee Audio.
This matatu is so dope that it has screens on the floor and a hater screen at the back. Now that is style! Escobar, Airforce and those other Rongai PSVs can now move aside to pave the way for KCG, Smoke City.
