A Kenyan based in Florida lost her life in a tragic accident over the weekend.

Jane Njeri Ngugi is reported to have driven into a ditch on June 20, 2020.

She called 911 at around 2:42 a.m. saying she had driven into a ditch and their car was filling with water frantically asking for help.

Police arrived and pulled out the car from the ditch and rushed her to hospital but it was too late.

Her sister, Joan Ngugi, broke the news on her social media saying,

"We are all absolutely shattered by the unexpected passing of Jane Njeri Ngugi. She has left a gaping hole in our hearts - but none hurting more than her son Karl."

Joan spoke about her last moments while paying tribute to her late sister.

"Dearest all, Please forgive me as this should be a day celebrating all the amazing Dads in our lives but instead I come with a heavy heart to let you know that our sister Jane Njeri has passed away."

Adding,

"You know her as my baby sister from Washington DC. She had recently moved to Florida and purchased a car to start a new job. She was a brand new driver who gave us worry sometimes but she needed to drive to work and that car ended her life Saturday morning as she was leaving her friend's house. It is on the news now. She managed to call 911 but they were not able to save her."

Joan continued,

"We are still numb and in shock but needed to get the news out there as people have started posting on her page. Please keep our family in prayer during this difficult time. I spent 3 wonderful weeks with her when I decided to escape the Covid lockdown and headed there and little did I know it was God's way of asking me to say goodbye."

Joan also asked family and friend to remember Karl, her nephew.

"Most importantly please pray for Karl her son who is 13 as she lived with him full time and he is still having a difficult time digesting this. We are broken into pieces 😭😭😭😭Please kindly pray for us!!! Thank you all!!! XOXO!!! My lovely sister you had to leave on your brother’s birthday and just before Father’s Day. Daddy and Paul are in heaven with open arms waiting for you. I still wish that I will wake up from this terrible nightmare!!!!"

Here are photos of Jane Ngugi during happier times living her life to the fullest. May she rest in peace. Our condolences to the family and friends.
