At a recent media briefing, Silvastone was quick to admit that the quality of music and musicians in East Africa was present. He however noticed that there was a problem that plagues the industry.

The London-based DJ virtuoso who boasts of also being a music producer and songwriter has recently made a foray into the music industry with the release of his EP, Transitions. Silvastone who has worked with industry heavyweights like Chidinma, Sarkodie, Bamboo, Habida among others, has recently been in the country working on Coke Studio Africa. He had the following to say about the music industry:

"East African artists are afraid to make investments. If you are not willing to invest in yourself it's hard for someone to invest in you. Make sacrifices and put in the money."

We can only hope Kenyan artists are listening.
