Shisha Smoking Might be Curbed if New Proposal is Passed

Shisha, or sheesha if you like, is most common among the youth. Even though the origins are disputed (some say India, others Persia or Turkey), Sheesha is becoming more popular in Nairobi and it's environs.

Soon there might not be shisha joints around, if Kenya adopts new rules proposed at a global tobacco control meeting. During the conference which came to an end last week in Moscow, Framework Convention Tobacco Control (FCTC) said, the Shisha lounges should be curbed to lower tobacco use and proposed that countries should ban advertisement of shisha lounges and electronic cigarettes and impose higher taxes.
