Celebrated radio personality Maina Kageni shocked fans when he revealed that he is venturing into politics, and he wasn't going for an MP or senator seat, but a rather very interesting position.

Maina Kageni announced that he would be running for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat where he would be competing against NASA's Esther Passaris and Jubilee's Rachel Shebesh aka 'Manzi Wa Nairobi'.

The top radio presenter is known for his unwavering support for his female listeners, and when it comes to relationship issues and topics, Maina Kageni is known to take their side and defend them all the way.

His co-host Mwalimu King'ang'i prefers to take the men's side and if you listen to the breakfast show, you know that Maina's moniker name is actually 'Woman Rep'.

When Maina Kageni made the important announcement that he would be running for this seat, he said that he wanted to represent women and have their voices heard, eliciting mixed reactions.

But does Maina Kageni really have fans out there who would actually vote for him? Well, a Nairobi county opinion polls shows that Maina is among the top three candidates who would be voted in.

The research byTrends and Insights For Africa (TIFA), revealed that Maina Kageni garnered 1% of voters, as Esther Passaris topped with 57%  and Shebesh getting 25% of the voters, but a 15% are still undecided.

This means that if Maina Kageni would actually campaign and put more effort in pushing for this seat he could probably win this race, keeping in mind the undecided voters.
