'She had a promising music career,' Ghana's president pens an emotional message to 20-year-old Ebony Reigns who died in a car crash

Ebony Reigns born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng is no more. The popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste passed away last week on Thursday in a horrific road accident in south western Ghana. Her death comes barely a  week after another musician Radio Mowzey died.

According to sources, Ebony was on her way to Accra when the accident occurred. She was in the company of her two friends and her driver. Ebony was rushed to hospital but died while receiving treatment. Her two friends died on the spot and the driver is currently hospitalized fighting for his life.

Ebony was one of the greatest musicians of our generation, who achieved a lot at just 20 years. Known for her great hits such as: Kupe, Maame Hw3, Sponsor, Poison among others. The multi-talented singer, who was to turn 21 years in a few days time, won the hearts of many and she was one of the best selling artistes in Ghana.

The president of the Republic of Ghana hon Nana Akufo-Addo led Ghanians in mourning the late artiste and here's his message.

"Saddened by the news of the death of the young, but extremely talented female artiste, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, aka Ebony Reigns," he tweeted adding.

"By all accounts, she had a very promising music career. My deepest condolences to her family, and to the families of the two others who died in the tragic accident. #RIPEbony"
