Gor mahia hooligans set vehicles ablaze in the CBD Yesterday after Gor Mahia beat Ushuru 2-0 at City stadium popularly known as Tok Komwanda to remain at the top of the Sport Pesa Premier league, unbeaten with 52 points. Fans believed to be from the Gor Mahia camp engaged county council askaris and police in running battles along Moi Avenue after the County van allegedly knocked down a fan.

The riots saw several the several admitted with injuries and two vehicles burned down.

Many including the Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko have come out to condemn the barbaric act and here is what he had to say;

"Sonko Rescue Team offered first aid to fellow Kenyans injured last night running for their dear lives after vehicles were set ablaze causing panic.

I extend my sympathies to the three fans, who were knocked down after Wednesday night’s match. I strongly condemn the unfortunate and unacceptable acts of hooliganism that were witnessed last evening.

We must all follow the rule of law and in no way should we condone such behaviour. Such acts of vandalism and lawlessness are a far cry from what Gor Mahia fans should stand for. All those who participated in causing violence and destruction of property must face the full force of the law."

Do you think such acts are what make sponsors shy away from sponsoring Gor Mahia?
