Seven pupils confirmed dead after classrooms collapsed in Dagoretti

Seven students from Precious Talent School have been confirmed dead after a classroom collapsed leaving scores injured in the early morning incident.

Some students are still stuck in the debris while 17 been rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital.

Parents said school the school which has over 800 students because most classes perform well despite the accident.

The private school had two floors; lower up to class five and upper has from class six to eight.

Class eight students are at the school by 6:00 am and class one by 6:50 am

Parents also said the school looked fine.

According to the Kenya Red Cross, the list of students who have been rushed to the Intensive Care Unit will be made public later.

The two-storey building was made up of wood and iron sheets. Each floor had four classrooms.

The upper floor which was made of concrete curved in.

Dagoretti residents have surrounded the area waiting to see how the rescue efforts are going on.

The incident which has thrown Kenyans into mourning happened at 7.00 am.

Just when the classes were about to begin is when the classrooms collapsed.
