Defending champions Strathmore Leos are in Pool A alongside Comras, Mean Machine and Ngong RFC in the third edition of the Nairobi Tens. The tournament will be held this weekend at KRFUA grounds.
It’s the second series of tens tournaments across the country with Kakamega Tens set to take place a week later. All the top clubs across the country apart from KCB, Nakuru and Kabras will take part in the two day tournament.
KCB will miss out due to fatigue while Kabras have broken their camp for one month and Nakuru who early this month won the Rift Valley Tens have not given any specific reason.
Homeboyz are the host club and will play Eastlanders, Seku and Nondies in pool B while Mwamba have been paired with TUK, Muranga and Dagoretti in Pool C. The tournament has attracted twenty four teams with eight teams set to progress to the main cup quarter finals while the rest will battle it out for Bowl and Shield.
There will also be a tournament for ladies with six teams set to take part. The six teams are KCB, Nakuru, Kenya Harlequins, Comras, Mwamba and Eastlanders set to take part. The six teams will play seven aside rugby on round of robin format.
There will be some prize money for winners as well as trophies. The tournament is KRU sanctioned and entrance is Ksh. 300
