See what has happened to the student who carried "banana bank" after banning of plastic papers

Some few days ago a student was spotted lugging her shopping around using a bag made of banana bark after the banning of plastic bags.Kenyans online then demanded the girl gets named a brand ambassador for finding an alternative to the polythene bags that keeps the environment clean.

Hilda Gacheri Bundi a student at Materi Girls has now been named a brand ambassador for alternative carrier bags.

On Monday Hilda was visited by a team from the National Environment and Management Authority (NEMA) at her school. They presented her with a school bag and named her their ambassador. The school administration held a meeting with the students and the NEMA team where they decided to check her background to enable them help her financially.

The NEMA communication manager Evans Nyabuto said that they will discuss with the general director and the environment CS to decide what NEMA will help the student with.
