Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and his team have appeared before Anti-corruption Magistrate Douglas Ogoti after their arrest on Friday.

Lawyer Cecil miller is representing Governor Sonko. He is appearing with fellow lawyers Kipchumba Murkomen and Mutula kilonzo junior.

Nelson Havi, George Kithi,Professor Tom Ojienda, Daniel Maanzo, AlphonseMutinda, Osundwa Michael, Harrison Kinyanjui and three others have been charged alongside Sonko.

Lawyer for Muchemi says that muchemi and two others had presented themselves at EACC but were turned away and told to only appear when summons are issued.

The lawyer is requesting that muchemi and the two others appear in court tomorrow to plead to the charges.

They have denied the charge of conspiracy to commit corruption being embezzlement of public funds from Nairobi county.

The courts were under tight security given that Sonko's fans had said they would camp outside the courts in solidarity with the Nairobi governor.
