A contingent of security personnel in Garissa County this morning shot and killed two attackers and managed to repel the attempted destruction of a Safaricom mast at Daadab sub-county.

During the fierce battle, four children who were outside a nearby Administration Police Camp were hit and killed by stray bullets.

According to the Deputy County Commissioner, Daadab Sub-county, Mr Kibet Bowen,  an AK 47 assault  Rifle and two  Improvised Explosive Devises (IEDs) were recovered.

The Administrator said the police are currently in hot pursuit of the suspected attackers, some of whom sustained serious injuries during the fierce fire exchange away from the camp.
