Security is a subject matter close to my heart ever since I got stabbed in Lang'ata. The fool was aiming for my genitalia. Luckily, the gods were with me and he missed and caught me in my thigh.

Actually, Lang'ata has become insecure with muggings and violent attacks becoming the order of the day which is ironic because Lang'ata police station is less that 1KM away. But from what I hear, the children of the police officers are behind most of the crime in Lang'ata. But that is a story for another day.

Yesterday, security experts sat scribes from various media houses down and discussed crime in Kenya as a whole. They highlighted some of the more dangerous hotspots for crime and I was shocked not to see Lang'ata mentioned. Could it be that there are areas in Kenya worse off than Lang'ata? It would seem so.

And what of the police? Incase you're wondering, the drunks are here:

Bondeni slum in Nakuru was found to be the most unsafe place to live in (in Kenya, but at this rate we can even compare it to Mogadishu) with crime at 60 per cent followed by Mishomoroni in Mombasa at 44 per cent, followed by Kibera at 40 per cent and Manyatta at 36 per cent.

Check out what the report had to offer below:

Kajiado County

Noonkopir and Changombe slums in Kitengela, Majengo, Kisaju Road in Isinya, Kware, Gataka Road and Wama Road in Ongata Rongai, areas around Kiserian Primary School, the Ngong Road stretch and Kiwanja ya Punda are listed as hotspots.

Kiambu County

Kiandutu, the flyover heading into Thika town, Ngeta Field and Muchatha in Thika, the railway line junction, Nairobi-Nakuru highway, the stretch to Kikuyu town, Patel Bridge in Kikuyu town, Mashimoni-Marimani roads and the Kiambu-Nairobi highway, the stretch between the Nakuru highway and Limuru town and bus stop are listed as dangerous areas.

Machakos County

Kanaani, Railways and Kisumu Ndogo in Athi River, Matharau Street, Slanga Dam and Ngwata in Mlolongo, the Nairobi-Kangundo highway and Sewage in Ruai, Sovia, Devik, Bondeni and Makadara in Mavoko are hotspots.

Nairobi County

The hotspots of Kibera are Darajani, Laini Saba playground, the bridge next to Corner Club in Bombolulu, the forest between Kibera and Ngong Road, behind Raila Education Centre, behind Bombolulu Bar, Stage 42, the railway and the boundary of Gatwekera and Soweto, around Subra Plaza, Fort Jesus, Equity Bank and near Kicoshep and Ayani primary schools, and Jasega.
