Sauti Sol are doing big things! The quartet comprising of Bien, Savara, Fancy Finger and Chimano is the biggest musical export Kenya has on offer at the moment and with good reason. These lads are just super talented, with a way of making music that appeals to every creed, race, region and culture.

The lads have released a couple of major bangers this year, some of which they featured on and others that were entirely their own. Take for instance the jam Melanin. It had Ezekiel Mutua, Kenya's self-appointed moral police had his panties in a bunch over the song terming the celebration of black girl magic as pornographic but this did nothing to dent the song's popularity.

And Sauti Sol are reaping the rewards of their dedication to their craft as the song Melanin has struck a chord with a wide audience. Have a listen to the jam:

Anyway, the single has been a hit on Spotify and has gone platinum thanks to it's appeal to people in Yankee (America), Europe and Africa at large. Check out the accolades they shared courtesy of Spotify:

Given that the song is 4 minutes and 35 seconds, it having been streamed a total of 5,441,571 times means it has been played 1.2million times! Elementary my dear Watson.
