The much anticipated MTV MAMAs have seen Sauti Sol lose yet another major award, a few weeks after failing to bring home the BET award. The team was nominated in the Best Group category, but the award went to Nigerian Duo P-Square.

The other category in which they were nominated in was "Best Song," with their song "Sura Yako" which lost to Mavinsn Dorobucci” (Nigeria). The biggest winners were Nigeria's Davido who took home Best Male award for the second year in a row, whereas Yemi Alade took home the Best Female Award.

Artiste of the Decade award went to P-Square once again as the Best International award went to Nicki Minaj. Best Collaboration went to AKA, Burna Boy, Da LES and JR for their hit song “All Eyes On Me."

Sauti Sol has taken the opportunity to thank their fans for the continued support. They have also said that in order to succeed, there must be loss along the way. The group won the Best International Act award at the 2014 MTV EMAs.

This is what they had to say:

"We've been nominated a couple times in the recent past and we have ended up winning nothing in every instance. There are those who've criticized and laughed at us but we just want to take this wonderful opportunity to thank each and every person who has been there, supported us throughout our journey from the Mwanzo days till now. Every winner was first a loser. The real work has just began and it will all be for you : our true fans! #LiveandDieinAfrika We love you all"
