Saumu Mbuvi, daughter to ex Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko will be joining the murky field of politics in 2022 to vie for the Women Rep seat.

Speaking to Radio Jambo, Saumu said her dad -who was impeached- is her best mentor and she will always do things that she feels are inspired by him.

“I want to join politics like my dad and actually, I will vie for woman representative the next General Election. He is a father and a good dad. As a politician’s child, I fear being broke and that is why I am working so hard everyday.”

Saumu joins the like of Karen Nyamu who vied un-successfully for the same seat.

The seat is currently held by Esther Passaris who beat the predecessor Rachel Shebesh, in a hotly contested election.

TV personality and business woman Betty Kyallo will also be vying for the same seat but in a different location.

Saumu might have a hard time convincing Nairobians why she deserves to be their women Representative considering her dad's un-ceremonial exit.

Sonko who was the Nairobi Governor was impeached over corruption allegations thus Saumu might pay dearly for his mistakes.

The mother of two might have it rough given that she has not had time to campaign due to the governments restrictions on public gatherings owing to covid-19.

We can only wait and see how all this unravels.

Would you vote for Saumu Mbuvi as the Women Representative, Nairobi County?
