Comedian Jalang'o has dispelled rumours going viral that he ignored Othuol Othuol's plea for help.

A screenshot of a conversation between Othuol and a fellow comedian has surfaced.

Othuol sent a message to the comedian on September 27, 2020, begging for Ksh15k to foot his medical bills but the recipient ignored his message.

On Sunday after the news went viral that Othuol was no more, the comedian responded to his text and he wrote,

Man am so sorry never saw this. Rest well bro am shocked.

Kenyans took to social media to lash out at the comedian, branding him a hypocrite. Many speculated the screenshot was from Jalang'o while others speculated it was Owago Onyiro.

Responding to the claims, Jalang'o shared a lengthy post, narrating how he helped Othuol Othuol.

So a blogger somewhere woke up and decided that the Othuol screenshot asking for 15k is me...You see nowadays i am so used to being associated with anything...I woke up and I saw this blog saying " HOW JALANGO DENIED OTHUOL 15K " Woow...do you know how you sit somewhere and wonder what you ever did to people..But i am used to it now and it doesn't bother me anymore...They always look for how to bring you down...In our group comedian, Kenya Sandra Dacha has been collecting money from the time Othuol was admitted the first time...we have had more than 3 fundraisers that has been sorting his bills...We have been there to the last minute...But if you decide to associate me with the screenshot who am I to change your thoughts?
