A lot of politicians, and celebrities in other fields, have been on the spot for using black magic (vudu) and juju for their own selfish gains.

Well, a popular and controversial Nairobi Bishop has alleged that he was paid a sum of 50,000 shillings to pray and destroy some juju paraphernalia. The said witchcraft assortment included a live snake, which the Mheshimiwa wanted burned as he wished to be set free.

According to the Nairobian, self-proclaimed Nairobi Bishop Thomas Wahome of the Helicopter Of Christ Ministries has claimed that Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu visited his church located in Nairobi's downtown where he sought assistance in "burning" the paraphernalia given to him by a witchdoctor.

Wahome alleged in court that Mutambu has been using juju from unidentified witchdoctor.

The allegations surfaced during a court case pitting the two. In the case, the bishop sued the legislator in September 2015 allegedly for assault, when he went to his office along Ngong Road in Nairobi to reclaim his lorry which the MP had been using.

Through his lawyer, however, Hon. Joe Mutambu claimed that he cornered Bishop Wahome over the 50,000 shillings he sent via mobile money transfer service.

However, Wahome told the court that the money was an offering from the MP for "services rendered" -assisting him (Mutambu) to read the Bible and burn his snake!

"I knew him (the MP) because he used to come to my church. At one point he confessed to me that some stuff he was given by witchdoctor was disturbing him. I told him to go back home and bring the paraphernalia and I was shocked when he came back and produces a snake, cockroaches and other witchdoctor's stuff," Wahome told the court.

Mutambu's lawyer referred to the bishop as a serial liar who was using God's name to con members of the public!

The case will revisited for hearing on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
