K24's gorgeous news anchor Karen Karimi Knaust and her family are going through the hardest time of their life after they lost one of their own.

Karen's sister, Ruth Knaust passed away at the end of November after she got involved in a grisly road accident caused by a reckless drunk driver along Valley Road.

Ruth was a mother of two, a vocal rights campaigner and was one of the women behind the famous my dress my choice campaign.

Karen and her other sister were the most affected since they were with Ruth the night she passed away.

They had come from Eric Omondi's hilarious Untamed Comedy Show at Bomas of Kenya where they were all filled with smiles and laughter, sadly, this was to be their last night together.

The family held a memorial service on Friday, Dec 4, as they send her off today. How sad!
