It was a long weekend, like the one coming soon over Easter. My buddies had planned for a reunion of old classmates in one of their houses.
The noise ...the food …the music ...the movies! I knew this was what I needed to recharge my otherwise low energy after long days at work.
The confirmations for the weekend hang-out were coming in fast and furious. Whatsapp is indeed the place to link up with former school mates.
The house all confirmed. Money for food well contributed via mobile pay, and we all headed out for the big weekend, packed bags in tow.
So we get to our friend’s house and all was great. We're cosy and we settle down to eat while Pam, one of the noisemakers from way back when cracks our ribs with her usual jokes. Man, is she funny or what. We laughed. We guffawed.
Suddenly, everything went dead silent. Pitch dark. An electricity blackout. Yikes!
Why on such a hallowed evening! Why, oh why?
We couldn’t see a thing in that dark mess.
“Drat! This must be the power ...oh my, how could I have forgotten that?” the host said angrily.
The group let out a collective sigh.
“Guys, I'm sorry. While I was planning up everything, I forgot to top up my power tokens today. Lemme light up a few candles and then run to the agent outside since I haven't got funds on my mobile money account” she added
I could only pity the situation. However, I had a light bulb moment real quick ...like for 0-100 in a flash!

“Technically, yes!” I replied.
