Royal Media Services Owner's Son Charged With Traffic Offence After Crashing His Porsche!

The son of a Media mogul has been charged before a Nairobi traffic Court for failing to obey a direction given by a police officer.

John Macharia son to Royal Media Services owner S.K Macharia was accused that on 26 November ,2016 at 4:20 hours along Waiyaki way being driver of a Porsche KCH 292K,he failed to blow into a breathalyser after being ordered to do so by a traffic officer.

The court heard that he refused to obey any direction given by a police officer in uniform whether verbally or by signal while in execution of his duty contrary to section 52 of the traffic Act.

He was suspected to driving under influence of alcohol.

Mr Macharia who did not appear in court ,pleaded guilty pleaded through his lawyer, Ian Maina.

In mitigation, Maina told the court that his client was remorseful for his actions and did not know what was going on at the time.He vowed not to repeat the offense.

He was fined 25,000 Shillings by Senior Resident magistrate Electra Rianyi.
