RIP! Ivy's mother's last message as she's laid to rest

Ivy Wangeci the Moi University student, who was hacked to death by Naftali Kinuthia was laid to rest on Thursday at her parents' home in Mahiga, Othaya constituency, Nyeri county.

The sixth-year medical student was eulogized as a disciplined and bright student who left a big gap that cannot be filled by anyone.

Her mother Winfred Waithera, paid an emotional tribute to her daughter. She said,

Who will be buying my purses, who will be buying my earrings and perfumes? Who will approve my clothes designs? I am at a loss.

Ivy's sister Cheryl Nyaruai's tribute read;

I don't know how to act like the first born and I don't think I'm ready for it. I believe you're in a better place. Hopefully, we will meet again.

She tweeted;

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Dr Ivy Wangechi, a life taken too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as we lay her to rest today.Let us continue calling out violence against women. #IvyWangechi RIP.
