The football fraternity is mourning.

The former Gor Mahia star, Re Union defender and Coast Stars skipper and later a football referee Charles ‘’Sodja’’ Handas is dead.

According to close family sources Handas passed away while undergoing treatment at Nairobi West Hospital on Tuesday 14/3/2017 evening hours.

The Star reports that Handas has been diagnosed with blood clot on his brain.

Among those who have sent their message of condolences are the chairman of  Kenya Football Coaches Association Ricky Solomon.

Former Royal Media Producer and radio host Jackie Stany wrote, "I always thought suka chile, charles handas, sodja, moshosho were different people! To top it up my daughter nicknamed you 'tukutane grao'! You fought a good fight but it's time to rest. Rest in peace to a legend. Kothbiro will never be the same. Your golden voice is what I loved, tutaonana baadaye......WAZI!"

Meanwhile his fans are hosting football matches to raise money to offset his medical bills.

We at Mpasho send our condolences to the family. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.
