On this one, I have to give Business Daily the props. He compiled the list. That said, I should also issue a warning; this is the type of list that will have you questioning your life choices and luck. Actually, nay, it will give you an existential crisis.
We all know CEOs get paid alot of money aye? And sometimes we get salty when we go broke by the 6th of the month and even on the 29th the CEO is still flying around in private jets or when they choose to be "economical" they fly business.
I know I am!
Well, I came across a list of CEOs who are earning some mind boggling figures in the name of drawing salaries and I want to share that with you. You already saw the disclaimer above so I here's hoping you will heed it.
Now onto business, let us get right down to it on the next page:
The youngest CEo is the one really caking it!
#1. James Mworia Centum
His annual compensation is 201.1 million up from an annual compensation of 160.5 million. Basically he has an average of Ksh. 16.7 million per month, all that at 39 years.
#2. James Mwangi Equity
Equity's James Mwangi is next in the list of highest paid CEOs. Last year he got 15.9 million per month. The Equity CEO shares the position with three other executive directors of the bank.
#3. Keith Gretton BAT
Next is the CEO of the BAT Kenya Keith Gretton who takes home 13.2 million each month. His CFO Phillip Lokopoiyit takes home the same amount.
#4. Bob Collymore Safaricom
He runs the most profitable company in the list but... He along with his former CFO took home 10.7 million for the year ended March.
#5. Jane Karuku
Jane Karuku (MD of Kenya Breweries Limited) and the firm’s two former executives – Charles Ireland (former CEO) and Tracey Barnes (former CFO) — each got an average of 7.2 million per month.
Honourable mention goes to:
Finally, KCB’s CEO Joshua Oigara and his CFO took home 6.3 million each making up the 6 highest paying companies for the top executives.
The Chief Financial Officers and CEOs are easily the ones taking home the biggest share with salaries depending on the company’s finances. Hope you just got inspired.
