It was a sad weekend for the lovers of Kikuyu music when they learnt of the sudden death of Mugithi star, Salim Junior.
The popular singer passed away after a battle with a chest infection since November 2015, which he finally succumbed to on Saturday, Jan 23 at Nakuru Memorial Hospital.
His death has come as a big blow to many of his fans, because he was one of those iconic singers who revolutionized the Mugithi music industry.
Salim, real name Paul Mwangi, was a one-man-guitar artist and made a big impact in the Kikuyu music scene and helped many upcoming artists to understand and perfect their singing. He has left behind two daughters and a wife.
The singer’s burial details have been scanty, but we finally got the information for those who would like to go and pay their last respects to the fallen star.
Salim Junior will be buried on February 2 (Tuesday) at his father’s farm in Arash, Subukia sub-county, Nakuru county. The funeral service will be done on the same day at Subukia shopping centre.
