Last year October, celebrated Kenyan radio presenter Maina Kageni together with Eddah’s Hope cancer foundation embarked on a course to help in purchasing treatment equipment for children with cancer at the Kenyatta National Hospital. The mission to raise Sh10 million for the equipment was super successful as Maina managed to raise over 20 million in a few hours. (Read the story below)
Today, equipment worth 7.9 million has been handed over to Kenyatta National Hospital and Eddah’s Hope is holding just over Sh2 million as they wait for the hospital to provide names and details of 340 families who need NHIF cover.
Since they collected Sh23 million, 13 million will be spread over cancer programmes in other hospitals and hospices around the country.
