President Uhuru jetted out of the country for the burial of the late former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, who died in Singapore.

Uhuru eulogised Mugabe as a freedom fighter, a Pan Africanist and an elder statesman.

According to the funeral programme, Uhuru is among sitting and former Presidents who will participate in the final rites for the late Mugabe, that is being held at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

 Uhuru had ordered the Kenyan flag to be flown half-mast last Friday in his honour.
The Kenyan flag was hoisted half-mast at the State House and all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Republic of Kenya and throughout the Republic of Kenya.

Mugabe was ousted from power in a military coup in November 2017, ending his three-decade reign.
