Radio Africa Issues Statement On Services Affected By Limuru Plane Crash

Following a plane crash in Limuru Sunday afternoon that killed one person and injured two others, Radio Africa Group has released a statement on its affected services resulting from the crash.

An 8-seater plane with only a pilot on board - hit transmission masts in Limuru at around 4pm this afternoon and went down, killing the pilot.

Following heavy rains in the area - visibility has been extremely poor.

The plane subsequently crashed into a nearby house.  A woman and her child who were in the house that the plane crashed into were injured and have been rushed to hospital.

Transmission equipment at Radio Africa's leading stations Classic fm, Kiss fm, Radio Jambo, East Fm and Bamba TV were totally damaged by the crash. The stations are now off air country-wide.

The company’s technical personnel are at the site assessing damage and working on a recovery plan.

Radio Africa's CMO Caroline Mutoko however wishes to assure listeners and advertisers that "we are working through the night to restore services and will keep you updated on progress through our print & digital platforms and of course our other media partners".
