Did John De Mathew predict his death? Well, he sang a song dedicated the song to his lover Peris Nduku, who died a few years ago.

In the song titled, Peris Nduku, he narrates his love story with her.

My dear Nduku I miss so much  God you took my lover but one day we will meet. If you were anywhere even Mombasa, I would visit.

In the song he says, their car rolled three times in Limuru and they were rushed to Aga Khan hospital.

I remember the first thing I asked the doctor after I gained consciousness was to call Peris Nduku. I only wanted to know if she was still alive or not. I was told she was admitted at ward 4 in the same hospital but couldn't believe what I saw upon visiting her ward.

He continued;

She called me by name John and told me 'kiss me for the last time because I don't think I'll survive.'

She told me 'My love, don't worry I'm going to prepare a better place for you in heaven" that was her last words.

He goes ahead to narrate how he felt after Nduku's death.

I tried to speak to you but you never responded and that left me heartbroken.

I pray that the good Lord keeps you in a better place and when my day comes, we will meet. Wait for me my love, I'm on my way. RIP my love. Hii ni nia ya wote.
