It is a sad grime affair at Chiromo Mortuary where the mother to Emma Edambo, a 13-year-old candidate at Precious Talent School, Dagoretti South arrived to identify her remains.

Emma was among the seven students who died after classrooms collapsed minutes after the classes were about to begin.

Some parents have narrated how gory the scene looked like.

WHEN THE UPPER STUDENTS HEARD THE CRACKING START, THEY MANAGED TO RUSH OUT. THE LOWER STUDENTS DID NOT HOWEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THEY STRUGGLED.

According to some parents,

‘THE INJURIES ARE SO BAD, SOME OF THEM HAVE SEPARATED LIMBS, IT’S A GORY SIGHT.’

Steven Odhiambo a parent at the school said school counted himself lucky after two of his kids survived the fatal accident.

MY DAUGHTER AND SON STUDY HERE. MY SON IS OKAY BUT MY DAUGHTER GOT INJURED.

I WAS HERE AT 7:00 O’CLOCK HELPING IN THE RESCUE MISSION AND AMONG THOSE RESCUED WAS MY DAUGHTER WHO IS IN CLASS THREE.

HER SHE STARTED COMPLAINING OF A HEADACHE. FROM THE OUTSIDE SHE LOOKED OKAY AND HAD NO VISIBLE INJURIES.

Odhiambo who was now concerned took his daughter to seek medical help not knowing what awaited them.

I TOOK HER TO A NEARBY DISPENSARY BUT THEY REFERRED ME TO KENYATTA NATIONAL HOSPITAL. MY DAUGHTER WAS ACCOMPANIED BY MY WIFE AND SHE IS RECEIVING TREATMENT.
