Weeks after bidding a sad farewell to legendary musician John DeMathew, another veteran artiste has been involved in an accident.

Benga star Kamande Wa Kioi is recuperating at home after being discharged from hospital. He is said to be in a stable condition after he was involved in an accident on Thursday evening.

He was travelling from Kasarani to Kahawa West when his car collided with a bus just as he cruised past Millennium.

Kamande told Mpasho, he is okay and he was discharged today morning after treatment and receiving scanning to ensure he has no internal injuries.

His message to his fans is, "I'm fine and thank you for your prayers."

The news was broken by new-age Kikuyu musician Samuel Muchoki a.k.a Samidoh, who witnessed the accident.

he said, “When I found him, he was standing at the door. I notified Kiamumbi OCS of the accident and called Kioi’s nephew Magwa, who doubles up as his backup dancer, for help. Magwa drove my car away while I assisted Kioi as his car got towed away to Kiamumbi Police Station."

He added, “I can confirm that he is stable. Kioi had a bruise, he was complaining of chest pains and was taken to hospital for further check-up.”
