Popular African Footballer Named The Best Player In France

Known as the cradle of football, Africa has produced many great stars. Most of them ply their trade in Europe and other parts of the world, thanks to their hard work.

Recently, Ghanian André Morgan Rami Ayew (elder brother to Jordan Ayew) who plays for the French Ligue 1 club Marseille and The Black Stars, was named the best African player in France by a weekly Football France magazine which also ranked him as the prestigious FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2010.

According to the mag, "Andre Ayew is the one who directs the operation, impulse, command, voice and gesture.” The super talented player was part of Ghana squad that took part in the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, and he won the CAF Fair Play Award. He scored three goals and two assists.

Andre has scored seven goals in 21 appearances for Marseille. Below is the list of the top 10 best African footballers in Ligue 1 by France Football and his younger brother Jordan, comes 4th.

Andre joins the likes of Yaya Toure, who has won best African footballer of the year four times and Asamoah Gyan, who was also named ‘2014 Best Foreign Player’ In Asia. Andre is out of contract this summer and will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, and word is Tottenham and Inter Millan are among the clubs chasing after his signature.
