Poll: Should The Ugandan Lady Who Abused Her Employer's Child Be Jailed Or Not?

The 22-year-old Ugandan maid Jolly Tumuhiirwe, who was caught on camera abusing her employer’s baby pleaded guilty on Monday in a Ugandan court. Jolly who is said to be remorseful when she appeared in court, asked for forgiveness from the parents of the child, the nation and those she said were affected by her acts. It was her first time she was speaking out in public after the video went viral on the internet making it trend in Kenya even up to date.

In the video, Jolly is seen feeding the 18 month old baby forcibly putting the spoon in her mouth and angrily barking at her. Later on she throws the toddler off the sofa, beats her with a torch, kicks and steps on her before dragging her to the washroom. According to the Prevention and Prohibition of Torture Act 2012, Jolly faces up to 15 years in prison for the assault. She was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Wednesday.
