Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, has expressed his joy after meeting the head of the global Catholic Church, Pope Francis, in Italy.
Wetang’ula, who is often affectionately nicknamed "Papa wa Roma," shared a photo of himself greeting Pope Francis during his visit to the Vatican Palace.
"Honored to meet the Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, at his Apostolic Palace, popularly known as the Papal Palace in Vatican City," Wetang’ula said.
He praised the Catholic leader, describing him as a perfect example of wise and servant leadership, particularly highlighting his efforts to extend humanitarian services to the underprivileged.
"@Pontifex is a true example of a Servant Leader, committed to bringing hope, equality, and opportunities to the less fortunate. He also exemplifies a model of compassion, love, mercy, and courage as he leads the global church," Wetang’ula explained.
Wetang’ula has long been humorously referred to as "Papa wa Roma," a nickname he has seemingly embraced, even using it in the post, accompanied by a train emoji.
