A Kenyan man living in the USA has amazed netizens with his striking resemblance to the late President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Known among expatriates as 'Kenyatta Junior,' his real name is Michael Ngige.
A woman who met him by chance was astonished by his likeness to the former President. "I was decorating a church and, as I turned around, I saw someone who looked just like Mzee Kenyatta. I stood there and exclaimed, 'Oh my! Has Kenyatta come back to life?'" she recalled.
In an interview with Mkenya Marekani TV, Michael shared that he has frequently been compared to Mzee Kenyatta. "People often tell me I look very much like Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. This started when I was very young."
Born in Jericho, Michael's relationship with his mother became strained after he inquired about his biological father. "When I asked my mother about my real father, she slapped me so hard I hit the wall. I saw stars and was told never to ask about it again."
This incident troubled Michael for years and strained his relationship with his mother. "We became enemies because the man she married did not like me. My mother would beat me daily because of that man, who kept saying, 'This is your child.'"
Feeling mistreated, Michael often ran away from home to escape the beatings. To this day, his mother has not addressed the issue, but Michael believes there might be some truth to the resemblance claims.
He left Kenya for the US in 2012 as a political refugee.
