The mother-in-law to Ali Hassan Joho's brother has passed on. His brother Abubakar Joho is a wealthy businessman and is commonly referred to as Alpha or Abu Joho, but his real name is Said Abdalla Joho, the firstborn in a family of seven.
The former Mombasa Governor has now penned a eulogy to Mama Khalida where he wrote,
"INNA LILLAHI WAIN ILEYHI RAJI'UUN. It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of the elder sister of my late mother, my dear aunt, Mama Khalida and the mother in law to my brother Abubakar Joho," he partly wrote.
He added that the family had also lost Mama Khalida's husband a month ago.
"This is made sadder by the fact that we lost her husband, veteran newsman Salim Mohammed just over a month ago."
He eulogised her as a kind-hearted woman who was loved by many.
"She was revered by many for her kindness and love, and her ability to make everyone she interacted with feel special and valued. Her wisdom, which she readily and generously shared whenever we called on her will be solemnly missed.
May Allah SWT forgive all her trespasses, may He accept all her good deed and grant her Jannatul Firdaus. Amin
Swalatul Janaza will be conducted this evening at Masjid Sheikh Nurein (TSS Mosque) after Swalatul Maghrib ,followed by the burial at Sarigoi Cemetery."
