Karibu nizimie! MP Salaysa complains being teargassed

He blamed the security for distracting their 'peaceful' demonstrations.

Some supporters of Azimio la Umoja one coalition were on Monday tear-gassed as they assembled at KICC in Nairobi.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna who led the MPs had stepped out of their legislative zone and was leading the Azimio la Umoja one coalition.

The police in an attempt to stop them lobbed tear gas but the MPs joined other Azimio supporters and lead their way to KICC.

The MPs were teargassed while addressing the media and Azimio supporters at KICC.

Speaking to the press Mumias East MP Salasya said he almost suffocated in the process.

He blamed the security for distracting their 'peaceful' demonstrations.

Salasya said:

"Shughuli bana but nakunywa teargas. We just had peaceful demonstrations. We have been locked inside here (KICC) and they are harassing us like cows. These cops are also suffering like other Kenyans yet they are spraying us with Teargas. I almost suffocated in the process," he said.

Ugunja Member of Parliament (MP) Opiyo Wandayi, among those protesting, has been arrested at KICC during the ongoing Azimio La Umoja protests.
