Azimio MPs demand Speaker Kingi's removal in raucous session

Kingi has for the second time failed to effect the removal of Fatuma Dullo as Minority Whip.

• The minority senators later stormed out of the chamber, leaving Dullo sitting on the minority side.

Senate proceedings turned chaotic on Thursday afternoon after Azimio MPs who are the minority demanded the removal of Speaker Amason Kingi.

It followed Kingi's failure for the second day running to effect the removal of Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo who was on Wednesday removed as the Minority Whip and replaced with Narok Senator Ledama Olekina.

The legislators chanted, "Shame! Shame! Shame! Kingi must go! Kingi must go!" on the floor of the House in protest of Kingi's failure to effect Dullo's removal.

The minority senators later stormed out of the chamber, leaving Dullo sitting on the minority side.

They then stormed into Dullo's office but were repulsed and blocked from accessing the office by Parliament orderlies. 

The Media was barred from the vicinity of the debating chamber and Dullo's office.
