Comedian Churchill celebrates Jalang'o after winning Lang'ata MP

Jalang'o's story is legitimate grass to grace tale

Comedian Felix Odiwuor, alias Jalang'o, will be the next Lang'ata Member of Parliament after he won a hotly contested race.

Daniel Ndambuki popularly known as Churchill has sent him a heart-warming congratulatory message. Taking to his social media, Felix described Jalang'o as a hard-working leader.

Churchill highlighted the humble journey of the comedian from being a creative to getting to the top.

"Allow me to celebrate my brother Hon Phelix Jalang'o. New MP Langata.It’s been a journey bro, a long one. But we thank God all has come to a beautiful beginning of a new chapter in your decorated career.

I’ve seen you grow from a promising artist to an established brand and now a futuristic leader.

Langata is lucky to have a mercurial leader like you. May God continue leading you and opening more doors for you. The entire creative industry is behind you," Churchill wrote.

Incumbent MP Nixon Korir conceded defeat to ODM aspirant Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o.

In a statement on his Facebook account, Korir thanked Lang'ata's residents for the support they accorded him for the five years tenure he served them.

"To the people of Langata, I sincerely thank you for according me an opportunity to be your Member of Parliament for the last 5 years.

It's been a great opportunity that gave me an avenue to contribute to our nation-building and service to the people," he wrote.

Korir congratulated his opponent Jalang'o whom he said was leading in most of the already tallied results.

"From the results that we've tallied at the Generali centre, my competitor Jalango has a lead and I want to congratulate him as he prepares to take the mantle and move Langata forward.  Siasa si chuki. God bless Langata."
