William Ruto, the deputy president, was the first person to vote in Sugoi. The Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate arrived with his wife Mama Rachel Ruto at the voting location.

Before DP Ruto cast his ballot at the Sugoi polling place, IEBC authorities collected his biometric information.

Ruto showed up in casual attire at the Koschei elementary school polling booth. At several polling places, Kenyans are voting right now.

Mr. Ruto was at hand to speak to reporters immediately after voting and said that he was happy to exercise his democratic right to cast his ballot.

He also urged Kenyans to vote "peacefully, intentionally and deliberately so that they could choose the next leaders to lead Kenya for the next five years.

He added that he was confident that Kenyans would make choices that would push the country forward.
