• Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Bobi Wine both have presidential ambitions
• Muhoozi is the eldest son of Yoweri Museveni
These past few days, Bobi Wine and Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Yoweri Museveni's son, have engaged in a public tiff over their respective presidential bids.
Their comments mocking each other have split Ugandans down the middle.
Muhoozi shared a picture showing how he and his 'brother' were competing to fill in the shoes that Yoweri will leave.
Muhoozi wrote this comment that riled Wine "Me and my young brother Kabobi arguing over who can fill my father's shoes! Thanks to the best artist in Uganda...Kintu! 🤣 😂."
The comment did not sit well with Bobi Wine who blasted Muhoozi saying, "I am not your brother and I'm not competing for your father's shoes. You're entitled to M7's shoes, cows, and even his hat. One mistake you make is to think that Uganda is one of your father's properties for you to inherit."
Here is what you need to know about Yoweri Museveni's first son. Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is the commander of Uganda's land forces.
He also doubles ups as the presidential advisor on special operations.
He is supposedly being groomed to take over from his father. Muhoozi wants to succeed his dad Yoweri in 2026 when the country holds its next presidential elections.
Back in March, Muhoozi made a Twitter announcement that he had retired from the military after almost three decades in service.
Last month, he marked his 48th birthday with pomp and glitz at an event graced by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, who last set foot in Uganda more than four years ago following frosty relations.
President Museveni has remained mum on whether his son will replace him as head of State.
