Former Nairobi governor, Mike Sonko has come out to say he is not one of the complainants who got bongo superstar Harmonize arrested.
Speaking outside Kileleshwa Police station, Sonko downplayed the extent of the dramatic arrest saying, "There is nothing big that has happened. Harmonize was summoned to shed light, there were clubs he was to perform at, he was paid and he did not perform."
Asked why he was at the police station, Sonko explained, "We had requested him to come and perform and I think it was a communication breakdown. I have not complained, where is the OB number? There was a problem here and that is why I had to come and see what was happening because his show at Club Volume was already advertised."
Asked if Harmonize will be charged for fraud, Sonko explained, "He is a free man, he will be in Mombasa to entertain fans there."
There were rumours that his visa and passport had been retained by the police over the fraud claims by the promoters.
Sonko explained, "No one was arrested. I was not a complainant, he will be performing at my club tonight. His visa has not expired it will be renewed even at the airport."
Earlier in the day, comedian Eric Omondi claimed that Harmonize punched him in the face in front of Sonko and the policemen at the station.
Asked about it Harmonize laughed off the claims saying, "Can you beat someone in a police station? Does that even make sense?"
Sonko echoed his remarks, saying, "There was no fight, I was not there, I was not aware, it was a misunderstanding and I think it has already been resolved. These are normal things they are all stars and they need to forgive each other. I wish I was with them here they could shake hands. They should be able to work together."
Harmonize will be performing tonight at Club Volume, this is after extensive talks with the other three promoters who did got their refunds.
