Jimmy Kibaki, the firstborn son of the Late President Mwai Kibaki has praised his dad for his dedication to his family.

Speaking during an interview with Rashid Abdallah at Parliament Buildings where he had gone to view the remains of his dad, Jimmy shared,

"We are encouraged to see the large turn out by Kenyans. To me he was just my father but seeing all these people means he uplifted the life of Kenyans and they have come here to show their appreciation. It's not easy at all, he has been in my life all my life. It has not hit me that he is gone, it will only hit me once we bury him in Othaya."

Jimmy says losing his dad after having him in his life for the last 59 years is something he can never come to terms with.

"He has been there for me for the last 59 years.

I will miss his protection, when you are with your dad you always feel protected.

we have to learn to live with the fact that he has gone to be with the Lord."

Asked what people did not know about the late Former Head of State, Jimmy responded

"He was a family man and nothing interfered with that. Officials had a hard time dealing with that but once they learned he is a family man things started flowing smoothly."

Jimmy's first-born son Mwai Kibaki Jnr had this past weekend taken to his socials to eulogize his late grandfather.

"Sometimes a legend that endures for decades...Endures for a reason...To realize the power of our dreams and inspire galaxies of greatness for generations to come. The sky is not the limit. It is only the beginning. Legends never die. RIP, Your excellency."

Jimmy's second-born, Sean Andrew also took to social media to eulogize his grandfather but in a rather unconventional way.

He posted a dark image to caption the dark moment he and the family was going through.
