Family of the late Nyeri Governor, Wahome Gakuru, on Monday held a low-key birthday ceremony to remember him.

Gakuru died in a grisly road accident at Kabati along the Thika-Sagana highway a few years ago. He had only served a few months in office before he passed on.

Photos doing rounds on social media depict that Governor Gakuru's grave has been completely forgotten.

The photos show that the soil has leveled up the grave stick and it is now partly covered by grass.

On social media, fans had a mixed reaction to the photos with most suggesting that Gakuru deserved a better resting place. Read some of those comments below;
