Musician Rufftone has defended his decision to join the UDA party in his bid for the Nairobi Senatorial seat.

In an interview on With All Due Respect, Rufftone - whose official name is Roy Smith said ODM was not an option for him because of its hooliganism.

"I will be very honest...there is a movement of hooliganism. I am born in this country and I have been in Eastlands, in 2007, I remember my blood brother Daddy Owen was for ODM and I was PNU when we disagreed, Daddy Owen ran to the streets," Rufftone said.

Rufftone was in the panel with Jalang'o, where he urged him to introduce new ideologies in ODM.

"You are a new blood in ODM, I think you need to bring in this flavour that we can differ in principle and it does not mean we are now Physical."

As Rufftone eyes the Nairobi Senatorial seat, Jalang'o is eyeing the Langata Parliamentary seat.
